By now, Integrated Technology Solutions Inc. (ITS) has informed you of the sale of their business to Computer Aided Technology Inc. (CATI).  CATI is very pleased to have this opportunity to work with the ITS community.  The two organizations have an equal dedication in providing best in class product development solutions. We are committed to providing you with the industry’s best offerings for your business. In addition, our company cultures are closely aligned.

We are proud to have key members of the ITS team join our company. Tom Humrickhouse, ITS owner, will be joining the organization as Vice President, Digital Prototyping, and will have responsibility for both design validation and rapid prototyping product lines. Derek Ellis, will be Product Manager, Rapid Prototyping. Manny Marquez will join as an Applications Engineer and John Binzak will be a PDM Consultant.

We understand and value the time and investment that you have made with technology solutions from ITS. Our goal with this merger is to be able to provide ITS clients with the industry’s leading solutions. Currently, CATI supports tools ranging from 3D mechanical design software (SolidWorks) to digital prototyping, product data management to design automation. Also, with this change, the Z-Corp product line has been added to our portfolio.

We recognize selecting a design platform is an important decision and we’ve created a plan for those ITS clients that wish to implement and utilize a SolidWorks solution. Unique offerings are available only from CATI for ITS clients, which make it very cost effective to implement SolidWorks.

We realize that software cost is only one piece of the puzzle; other elements that clients cite when implementing technology include learning curve, existing data usage, local support, user community and compatibility with customers and vendors. We are instituting a variety of programs to minimize potential negative impact of these factors. The resources available from the local SolidWorks Users’ Community are second to none and can be a key competitive advantage to your business.

CATI will support you during this transition. Shortly, you will receive a call from our team to welcome you and answer any questions. You can also call us directly at 888-308-2284. In the interim, we have attached an FAQ list for your review and you can visit our website at www.cati.com/ITSClients.htm.

We will host an Open House for ITS clients in early 2008. Please look for your invitation soon. We look forward to this opportunity to work with you.

Welcome to the CATI family!

Best regards,

Rich Werneth

FAQ

What does this change mean to me? Why did this happen?
This change means that you will have access to industry leading tools for product development, a significant local support/training base and a vibrant user community. This happened because the ITS team chose to join forces with CATI to be able to offer the best tools for the manufacturing community.

Where do I go for technical support?

I don’t use SolidWorks, how can CATI help my company?
In addition to SolidWorks, CATI supports a number of solutions that can address your business challenges such as design analysis, multiple PDM and workflow solutions, design automation products and rapid prototyping solutions.

What about my Z-Corp Machine?
CATI will be adding the Z-Corp product line to our offerings. You will be able to call us directly for support at 888-285-2284 or email us at support@CATI.com.

What about my analysis tools, can I use them with SolidWorks?
If you have existing analysis tools, SolidWorks data can be used for model creation for analysis. Also, SolidWorks has direct offerings for both basic and advanced analysis, including motion, non-linear and flow solutions.

The existing data that you have can be imported directly into SolidWorks. CATI has invested significant resources in supporting multi-CAD environments in terms of internal technology and personnel. Also, we have partnered with an engineering services firm for bulk data migration projects.

How will we train our users?
CATI has a number of training facilities throughout IL, WI, IN and KY. Additionally, CATI’s investment in mobile training centers allows us to provide training at any location. Furthermore, we offer custom training, WebEx sessions and desktop self-paced options. To minimize ramp-up time, proprietary targeted training courses transition clients from one solid modeler to another.

What if I need to recruit SolidWorks users?
The SolidWorks user base is very healthy. There are a number of mechanisms that can be used to find trained users, including local user groups. A graph below compares the number of current job openings for SolidWorks with other CAD systems.
