Technical Support Bulletin: Using the Sketch Driven Pattern Feature
By Paul Niedermann

To use the sketch driven pattern feature on a given part, Insert a sketch with points placed and dimension appropriately.

Then select from the top menu Insert, Pattern/Mirror, Sketch Driven Pattern.
Select the feature, face or Body to pattern and in the selections box add your point sketch. Then select which reference point option you wish to use, centroid or selected point. Then complete the feature

Using the Centroid option
The new patterned features will be placed at the sketch points in the reference sketch.

Using the reference selected point option
The new patterned features will be offset from the sketch points in the reference sketch. To use the reference selected point for a sketch driven pattern, put in another sketch point(s) that is a specified distance and direction from the original feature that you are patterning, when you select the point for reference the new patterned features will move that same distance from their sketch point location in the opposite direction or another way to look at it is, the feature moves as if the reference point is centered on the sketch point and the new feature is moved that same distance and direction from the point as the original.
