Change to minimum/maximum dimensions between arcs in 2005 SP2.0 (April , 2005)
by Paul Niedermann, Technical Analyst, CATI

Prior to 2005 SP2.0, when dimensioning between arcs, SolidWorks 2005 would choose to create a minimum or maximum dimension depending on where the arc was selected within 90 degree zones / quadrants. However, due to the possibility of inadvertently selecting a minimum or maximum value instead of the arc center, particularly when dimensioning small holes, this behavior has been changed in SP2.0. In order to specify minimum or maximum values based on the arc quadrant selected the SHIFT key should now be depressed at the same time. If the SHIFT key is not selected when dimensioning the arc center will be chosen for the dimension by default. This applies to sketch dimensions and drawing reference dimensions.
