MoldWorks is an intelligent and intuitive Mold & Die Design Application that streamlines the engineering process. SplitWorks is a revolutionary new product, using advanced technology, to automate the process of core and cavity separation and creation. Both MoldWorks and SplitWorks operate seamlessly within SolidWorks.
Agenda
Day 1
We will walk through creating parting line surfaces and creating solid models for the inserts. We will also discuss how to create side pull and undercut inserts. Then create electrodes necessary to complete the cavity and core split.
Day 2
The mold base will be created around the insert stack produced in SplitWorks from the previous day. We will discuss the options and standards that are in place within the MoldWorks environment and create the proper mold base for the application.
At Course Completion
Students will have a 2 day basic understanding of SplitWorks/MoldWorks.
About the Instructor
John Edwards has over a dozen years experience in injection mold building and design. He has worked for both large and small-scale companies. At Courtesy Corporation he received his TMA certification as a journeyman mold maker. He has been a Certified SolidWorks Professional since the first year it was offered. He has built a small business in mold design and tool room consulting, and he has great experience in helping tool rooms turn their operations into a profitable and competitive solution against the overseas competition. He has helped design standards and processes to help tool rooms operate in the ISO and GMP environments. He has used the Moldworks/Splitworks software to do all of his projects, and he has seen success in these methods. He has the full understanding of the plastics trade from part design, tool design, cnc programming and operations, assembly, and plastics processing. He has spent many years training and implementing the 3d design practices needed in today's tool room environment.
