This course focuses on expanding the knowledge of the advanced user to include skill required to create complex solid models utilizing the functionality available within the SolidWorks environment for complex surface creation.
Prerequisites
To ensure a consistent learning experience for all students, we have established the following prerequisites for the training course.
Lack of advanced knowledge of the SolidWorks environment and interface will be extremely difficult to overcome in the classroom setting. Students that lack any of these prerequisites should realize the impact that it will have on their learning experience.
Course Materials
The SolidWorks Industrial Design Modeling training guide will be supplied at the beginning of class and is yours to keep.
Topics Covered
- Introduction to industrial design concepts
- Model planning
- Sketch and curve creation
- Advanced surface creation
- Transforming surfaces into solids
- Creating complex geometry using only solids
At Course Completion
Students will know how to create complex shapes with SolidWorks utilizing several different methods and a variety of SolidWorks functionality. They will be able to more effectively determine the what methods are most appropriate for given modeling situations, as well as, understand what alternative methods can be used for geometry creation.
