SOLIDWORKS Error Connecting to SolidNetWork License Manager (SNL) Port in use by Another Process

Lately we have been seeing an uptick in the number of SNL users not being able to connect. The symptom on the SNL Manager is showing 0 licenses and also reports cannot get information from this server message. When viewing the log there will be a note about the port being busy or in use. It also mentions the “lmgrd.exe” is not able to run.

So far the only thing we have been able to do to clear the port is reboot the server. I know, not the best option, but also better than having engineers not working.

Some other options that I have not been able to test live yet include using Process Monitor to kill an orphaned process or using a command line to view and then use taskkill to clear the port to save from rebooting as seen below:
