SOLIDWORKS SIMposium
CATI is committed to providing local events on different SOLIDWORKS Applications and Topics for the engineering community. The SOLIDWORKS SIMposium will consist of 60 minute informative presentations and demonstrations to give participants more knowledge about SOLIDWORKS Simulation. Learn how to save time, reduce costs, and improve quality with SOLIDWORKS Design and Simulation Tools. We will show you a number of powerful features of the SOLIDWORKS Simulation Tools that will help you understand how your product will behave in the real world.
There will be two sessions, a morning and an afternoon session. Feel free to come to one or both of the presentations, depening on which topics interest you. These are not training sessions, they are to learn about the products and their capabilities.
Event Schedule:
11:15 am – 11:30 am: Check-In
11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Morning Session
12:30 pm – 1:00 pm: Lunch
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm: Afternoon Session
Morning Session
SOLIDWORKS SIMULATION
• Can you predict the performance of your design under real world conditions?
• Can you evaluate complex problems early in the design cycle?
• Can you gauge a system’s life cycle expectancy?
SOLIDWORKS Simulation helps you ask and answer important “what if” and “how” questions. Easy to use, yet powerful, SOLIDWORKS Simulation is true FEA and CFD fully integrated within SOLIDWORKS software. Its comprehensive capabilities will analyze parts and assemblies for all product failure possibilities such as structural, kinematics, multi-physics, fluid dynamics, & thermal and more.
The risk of not understanding your product’s performance early in the design process can be costly and time consuming. With SOLIDWORKS Simulation you can detect problems and correct them before spending money on prototyping, tooling, and production..
Recommended for: Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Managers
Afternoon Session
FLOW SIMULATION
Easily simulate fluid flow, heat transfer, and fluid forces that are critical to the success of your design with SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation. Fully embedded with SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD, SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation intuitive CFD (computational fluid dynamics) tool enables you to simulate liquid and gas flow in real world conditions, run “what if” scenarios, and efficiently analyze the effects of fluid flow, heat transfer, and related forces on immersed or surrounding components. You can compare design variations to make better decisions to create products with superior performance. Driven by engineering goals, SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation enables Product Engineers to use CFD insights for making their technical decision through a concurrent engineering approach. Additional HVAC and Electronic Cooling modules offer dedicated fluid flow simulation tools for detailed analysis.

AND
FILL IT CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME WITH SOLIDWORKS PLASTICS
If you design plastic parts for injection molding or injection molds you want to be able to perform concise analysis to know that your part will fill completely, will cool evenly, and will not have air traps. You want to know where the weld lines will be.
Injection mold reworks are costly. SOLIDWORKS Plastics lets you predict and avoid manufacturing defects during the earliest stages of design before you incur the substantially increased cost of rework downstream.
SOLIDWORKS Plastics Professional – for the Plastics Part Designer: CAD integrated; easy to learn and use; facilitates design team communication with web-based HTML reports.
SOLIDWORKS Plastics Premium – for Mold Designers and Mold Makers: optimize feed system design; estimate cycle time, clamp tonnage, and shot size; avoid costly mold rework.
Recommended for: Plastics Engineers, Mold Designers, Mold Makers, Mechanical Engineers, Industrial Engineers, Engineering
