{"id":128614,"date":"2019-11-26T22:16:00","date_gmt":"2019-11-27T03:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/live-cati-marketing.pantheonsite.io\/abaqus-2020-is-now-available\/"},"modified":"2022-04-20T18:50:40","modified_gmt":"2022-04-20T22:50:40","slug":"abaqus-2020-is-now-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cati.com\/?p=128614","title":{"rendered":"Abaqus 2020 is Now Available!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>If you&#8217;re a current Abaqus customer, you can now grab the new 2020 release at <a href=\"http:\/\/software.3ds.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">software.3ds.com<\/a>!\u00a0<\/strong> For more detailed instructions on downloading and installing Abaqus, see <a href=\"https:\/\/caelynx.com\/5-quick-steps-to-download-your-dassault-systemes-apps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a short overview of what&#8217;s new:<\/p>\n<div class=\"acc_title\">\n<h3><a>Material and element enhancements <\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"acc_content\">\n<div id=\"c1813146\" class=\"csc-default\">\n<div class=\"activeBG isRTE\">\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/caelynx.com\/product\/abaqus\/\">Abaqus\/Standard<\/a> now provides a capability to model solid-state phase transformation that can be used to simulate metals-based additive manufacturing and heat treatment processes.<\/li>\n<li>Abaqus\/Explicit now provides non-quadratic yield surfaces for plasticity based on the criteria proposed by Barlat.<\/li>\n<li>Coupled temperature-displacement cohesive elements are now available in Abaqus\/Standard.<\/li>\n<li>Accuracy of the linear elastic fatigue crack growth procedure in Abaqus\/Standard has been significantly improved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"acc_title\">\n<h3><a>Contact enhancements <\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"acc_content\">\n<div id=\"c1813140\" class=\"csc-default\">\n<div class=\"activeBG isRTE\">\n<ul>\n<li>The interference fit capability that previously existed in Abaqus\/Standard is now also available in Abaqus\/Explicit.<\/li>\n<li>The small sliding contact formulation which was previously available for contact pairs in Abaqus\/Standard is now available with general contact in Abaqus\/Standard.<\/li>\n<li>Thermal expansion of rigid bodies, kinematic couplings, and BEAM MPC\u2019s is now supported.<\/li>\n<li>General contact property assignments such as friction can now be defined in terms of the underlying material assignments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"acc_title\">\n<h3><a>Modeling and visualization enhancements <\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"acc_content\">\n<div id=\"c1813156\" class=\"csc-default\">\n<div class=\"activeBG isRTE\">\n<ul>\n<li>Abaqus\/CAE can now directly import Solidworks .sldpart and .sldasm files without need for a 3rd party translator.<\/li>\n<li>Nodes and elements on dependent part instances can now be renumbered at the assembly level in Abaqus\/CAE<\/li>\n<li>Abaqus\/CAE now supports evaluation of the hyperfoam material model.<\/li>\n<li>Cells within a partitioned solid part can now be independently color coded<\/li>\n<li>Model instances (subassemblies) can now be used with linear and radial patterns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"acc_title\">\n<h3><a>Other key enhancements <\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"acc_content\">\n<div id=\"c1813160\" class=\"csc-default\">\n<div class=\"activeBG isRTE\">\n<ul>\n<li>A new constraint-preconditioner enables use of the iterative solver for large model that include features such as hybrid elements, distributing couplings, and hard contact.<\/li>\n<li>Abaqus\/Explicit now provides options to delete elements based on distortion and time increment size.
