CATI Rapid Prototyping Specialist, Derek Ellis, Elected Vice President of the Additive Manufacturing User Group (AMUG)

Buffalo Grove, IL – June 4, 2013 – Derek Ellis, Rapid Prototyping Specialist, Computer Aided Technology, Inc. (CATI), was selected as the incoming Vice President of the Additive Manufacturing User Group (AMUG).  AMUG is intended to educate, train, and advance the uses and applications of additive manufacturing technologies.

Derek has been involved with AMUG since 1995 and has shared his expertise on a variety of subjects, including teaching a class on “Hands-On Silicone Rubber Training.”  His new role as Vice President will consists of many responsibilities including putting together next year’s conference — scheduling speakers, searching for vendors, and gaining sponsorships.

Derek’s commitment to the organization will be four years (2 as Vice President, 1 as President, and 1 as Past President).  His future plans and expectations for AMUG are for more people to become involved and continue to show growth. AMUG has grown exponentially the last few years with people showing more and more interest in additive manufacturing.

This position and Derek’s efforts involving the nationwide additive manufacturing user community will help to strengthen his and CATI’s reputation as a valued partner for anyone seeking to be involved with Additive Manufacturing, 3D Printing, and Rapid Prototyping.
