Computer Aided Technology, Inc.’s Derek Ellis Received Prestigious DINO Award at AMUG Conference

Buffalo Grove, IL – April 24, 2015 – Derek Ellis, Senior Applications Engineer at Computer Aided Technology, Inc. (CATI), received the DINO Award at the 2015 Additive Manufacturing User Group (AMUG) Conference. He becomes the second CATI team member to receive the award. Applications Engineer Mark Abshire received the award in 2008.

The Distinguished INnovator Operator (DINO) Award recognizes those with the highest levels of additive manufacturing expertise and a willingness to share that knowledge through contributions to AMUG, its members and the industry it represents.

This prestigious award and Derek’s efforts involving the nationwide additive manufacturing user community will help to strengthen his and CATI’s reputation as a valued partner for anyone seeking to be involved with Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing.

About Derek Ellis

Mr. Ellis has been involved in the additive manufacturing industry since 1991. In his current role at CATI, he is responsible for the company’s technical pre-sales efforts, FDM Insight software training and additive manufacturing part benchmarking. He has served on the AMUG board in the role of secretary and vice president. His contributions to AMUG include the expansion of the AMUGexpo, creating the scanning/reverse engineering and inspection track, and coordinating first-time conference attendees’ orientation.
