ENOVIA SmarTeam provides collaborative offerings focused on product development processes supporting design, engineering, and enterprise activities. A unified platform across all ENOVIA SmarTeam products enables collaboration between users across these different areas.

ENOVIA SmarTeam is packaged based on user roles, and “Quick-Start” Express offerings provide rapid justification.

 

ENOVIA SMARTEAM USER ROLES

Design Collaboration

The Design Collaboration user role details ENOVIA SmarTeam products required to support the design environment. The Design Collaboration role includes the Designer, Editor, and Community products.

ENOVIA SmarTeam Designer – Manages all design activities in an immersive multi-CAD, multi-data environment. Users can centrally store, integrate, and manage all product data with advanced version control and searching. Includes robust multi-CAD integrations including SOLIDWORKS, CATIA V5, AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, SolidEdge, Pro/Engineer, and Unigraphics NX.

ENOVIA SmarTeam Editor – Manages, links, and releases technical documents in the context of the product, ensuring data integrity. Users can securely manage, search, retrieve, and view all product data, and can work with logically linked product structure and automate revision and version control. A user can also include Microsoft Office applications in their PLM environment.

ENOVIA SmarTeam Community – Manages collaboration with external partners, with access to only specific product data. Users can create communities for managing external partners, and can access data easily in an intuitive web environment. Users can also integrate external partners within their business processes, and selectively publish data seen by community users. Finally, users can easily reconcile partner-modified data in their PLM environments.

Engineering Collaboration

The Engineering Collaboration user role includes ENOVIA SmarTeam products required to support the engineering environment.  The Engineering Collaboration role includes the Engineer, Designer, Editor, and Community products.

ENOVIA SmarTeam Engineer – Manages E-BOM, M-BOM, item lifecycle, engineering release and change processes. ENOVIA SmarTeam facilitates “Item Centric” design to manufacturing approach. Users can automate engineering processes and change management and can manage lifecycle and revisions across items and documents. They can manipulate product structure via multiple configuration views, advanced filtering and business logic.

Enterprise Collaboration

The Enterprise Collaboration user role extends the engineering collaboration role by adding products to support a global enterprise. Additional ENOVIA SmarTeam products are required to support the enterprise environment, including web-based interfaces, ERP gateway, and multi-site replication.

ENOVIA SmarTeam Enterprise Services – Offers site services for extending reach and scope. Users can provide a gateway to ERP, MRP and other enterprise applications. They can improve data sharing and collaboration across multiple sites, and utilize enterprise-level data protection/security.

ENOVIA SmarTeam Navigator – Enables non-engineers to intuitively access product information and join in business processes. Users can browse, view, search, print, and share engineering drawings and documentation. They can participate in collaborative processes across enterprise departments, such as for regulatory compliance. Everyone involved can benefit from full visualization of relevant product knowledge and a resulting enhanced decision-making process.
