SOLIDWORKS 2018 Launch Events
Join Computer Aided Technology (CATI) for our Design Innovation Summit as we showcase What’s NEW in SOLIDWORKS 2018! The Design Innovation Summit is an interactive learning experience focused on helping you design and make better products. This year we have a full agenda centered around What’s NEW in SOLIDWORKS 2018.
We have listened to your feedback from previous events, chose better-equipped venues, and reworked the agenda to show you more of What’s NEW in SOLIDWORKS 2018. With content created by our Application Engineers, you will leave this year’s Design Innovation Summit with the knowledge to help you get your job done right and be more prepared to update to SOLIDWORKS 2018!
In addition to What’s NEW in SOLIDWORKS 2018, some events will have an expanded agenda that includes tips and tricks sessions as well as expanded looks at Creaform 3D Scanning, Stratasys 3D Printing, Desktop Metal 3D Printing, and more… .
Check back for updates or register to receive them directly in your inbox.
8:30am – 9:00am – Registration and Breakfast
9:00am – 9:30am – Introduction – Leveraging 3D Technology in the Product Development Lifecycle: SOLIDWORKS 2018, Stratasys 3D Printing, and Creaform 3D Scanning
Sometimes we talk too much about products, so instead we want to show you the entirety of the product development lifecycle from design to manufacturing. 3D technologies including 3D CAD, Validation, Visualization, 3D Scanning, 3D Printing, and others will be employed during these live presentations. We will discuss the concepts and show an example of the process with a real-life component from medical device manufacturer MYOMO. Join us for this presentation to learn how leveraging 3D Design and Manufacturing tools can help you optimize your process – reducing costs, saving time, speeding production, eliminating waste, and reducing risk.
9:30am – 10:15am – SOLIDWORKS 2018 For Mechanical Design
In this section we will explore many of the new enhancements and features in SOLIDWORKS 2018. Starting with new User Interface changes, Sketch enhancements and even some new Assembly tools and delighters. We will also focus on product development tools and cover many of the commands you use every day.
10:30am – 10:45am – SOLIDWORKS 2018 For Electrical and PCB Design
Do you have a need for electrical or PCB layout design tools? Did you know that SOLIDWORKS has a complete suite of tools to aid in this part of the design process? Attend this section to learn about this new functionality.
10:45am – 11:15am – 3D Scanning with Creaform
This section of the presentation shows how Creaform 3D scanning is leveraged along with SOLIDWORKS 2018 at various stages of the design process – including reverse engineering and inspection.
11:30am – 12:00pm – Stratasys 3D Printing
This section of the presentation will cover the differences between Stratasys’ PolyJet and FDM Technologies – including material differences, and an explanation for why we picked the specific materials to build the MYOMO arm on display.
12:00pm – 1:00pm – Lunch
1:00pm – 1:45pm – SOLIDWORKS 2018 and SIMULIA for Design Validation and Simulation
So you have a great design, but will it work? How much will it cost to build or fabricate? If we have to mold it, will it warp or shrink in the tool? These questions and more will be answered during our Validation section of the development process. See new Simulation enhancements making the design validation process much easier. Don’t miss the newest tool SIMULIA for taking your analysis to a whole new level.
2:00pm – 2:15pm – SOLIDWORKS 2018 For Design Collaboration
2:15pm – 2:45pm – SOLIDWORKS 2018 For Design Management
Now that we have completed the design, created prototypes and validated those designs. How do we manage all of this information? This section will cover enhancements on how to manage your files as well as share them with whoever is involved in the process.
3:00pm – 3:45pm – SOLIDWORKS 2018 For Manufacturing
After having shared our design with everyone involved, now we have to build it. See new documenting features for drawings as well as new dimensioning functionality. Learn more about PMI enhancements with SOLIDWORKS MBD. We will conclude this section to show you how you can use the SOLIDWORKS Suite of Products from concept to delivery!
No need to schedule an appointment – The Productivity Zone will give you the ability to learn more about additional products from CATI, InFlow Technology, SOLIDWORKS, Stratasys, Creaform, and other Partner Solutions.
Productivity Zone booths will be open to attendees all day, so if you have questions or want to learn more, an expert will be there to assist you.
Don’t forget to stop by the Model Mania contest and our Hands-On Test Drive Stations.
SOLIDWORKS 2018 – Expand innovation with powerful new tools and enhancements that shorten your design process, enhance collaboration, and increase productivity for design without limits.
SOLIDWORKS 2018 new features and enhancements span the full range of SOLIDWORKS software for 3D design, simulation, technical communication, and product data management to maximize your productivity
