Advanced Prototyping and Production

The Fortus 380mc™ Carbon Fiber Edition 3D Printer prints exclusively with FDM Nylon 12CF™ Carbon Fiber and ASA materials. It fills the gap between capability-limited desktop printers and more costly production-level printers enabled with carbon fiber-reinforced materials. The heated build chamber is the same size as the standard Fortus 380mc, preventing warp and curl for consistent part production regardless of size. Soluble support provides complete design freedom for complex shapes that include voids and undercuts.

The Fortus 380mc Carbon Fiber Edition prints with FDM Nylon 12 Carbon Fiber and ASA. It’s a targeted solution for functional prototypes, production parts and rugged tooling that need the strength and stiffness of carbon-filled composite material.

The Fortus 380mc Carbon Fiber Edition prints in two materials:

  • FDM Nylon 12CF Carbon Fiber
  • ASA

When you need the high strength and stiffness of carbon fiber, FDM Nylon 12CF is the answer. For less demanding applications like rapid prototyping, concept verification or any job that doesn’t require carbon fiber, use ASA. Both materials are compatible with soluble support for fast, hands-free removal of support material.

Note: Accuracy is geometry dependent. Achievable accuracy specification derived from statistical data at 95% dimensional yield.
