At some point in your modeling career, you will probably need to add a logo or decal to your product. I will show you how easy it is to add a decal to your part in SOLIDWORKS. With your part open, go to the DisplayManager at the top of your feature tree.
Select Decal, and then below, right click and select Add Decal.
Then just browse to the image you want to use as your decal.
If you select Save Decal, you can save the decal in your decal library to use at a later date.
The file is saved as a .p2d file
After you have located the file you wish to use as your decal, all you have to do is select the face where you want to apply the decal. Once you place the decal, if you select the Mapping Tab in the DisplayManager dialog box, you have numerous controls at your fingertips. You can scale, rotate, select a specific direction and many others.
There are a lot options you can use when creating a decal. Don't be afraid to play around with any of the commands in SOLIDWORKS. It's fun and you always learn something!
