SOLIDWORKS 2019 What’s New – Copying DimXpert Schemes– #SW2019

A shout out to all MBD users who are tired of having to recreate the same DimXpert scheme for different documents! – new in SOLIDWORKS 2019 is the ability to copy DimXpert schemes across documents, one to the other. Here’s how:

  1. Simply open the target document and select the configuration to which you want to copy the scheme. Be aware that copy scheme will not work if there is an existing DimXpert scheme in-place on the target configuration.
  2. Click Import Scheme (found in the MBD dimension toolbar).
  3. Now, in the dialog box, select a similar document/configuration containing the scheme you want to copy, then click Open.

The DimXpert annotations should now be copied over to the target document.

I hope this part of the What’s New series gives you a better understanding of the new features and functions of SOLIDWORKS 2019. Please check back to the CATI Blog as the CATI Application Engineers will continue to break down many of the new items in SOLIDWORKS 2019. All these articles will be stored in the category of “SOLIDWORKS What’s New.”
