The Computer Aided Technology blog is an amazing repository of in-depth, insightful, and inspiring technical content. There’s a wealth of content on nearly any software topic you can think of for SOLIDWORKS, Simulation, Composer, Visualize, Inspection, and more. During our training classes we try to make sure our customers are aware of this great resource, but sometimes we need to remind ourselves to highlight another great resource for technical content: our CATI YouTube page.
Our YouTube page has tons of great videos with everything from past webinars to product overviews to our engineers tackling interesting challenges with our solutions. I want to take the time to make sure you’re aware of 5 really powerful YouTube playlists that you NEED to check out!
The first is our SOLIDWORKS How Do I…? playlist. This playlist is probably most similar to our blog content. Here CATI Application Engineers try to tackle the nuts & bolts and just make the dog gone thing work type problems. So if you’re still looking for a more detailed explanation of creating Weldment profiles even after you read the blog Build your Own: Weldment Profiles in SOLIDWORKS you’ll see the video How to Create Custom Weldment Profiles in SOLIDWORKS right in the playlist.
The next playlist is our SOLIDWORKS Webcast Recordings playlist. This playlist is probably our most popular. If you’re looking for more in depth training for free, this is your best bet. Let’s say you’d like to learn more about how to use SOLIDWORKS Visualize, the actual picks and clicks. Well, you’d see Bring Your Designs to Life with SOLIDWORKS Visualize Professional on the playlist.
Probably our most “fun” playlist is our SOLIDWORKS Solutions: Solving Common Engineering Problems. Here you can see our CATI Application Engineers tackle challenges using the SOLIDWORKS tools. I thought about referring to this list as our most delicious playlist because if you ever had questions about cooking cookies and simulating their cooling (because who hasn’t!) you’d find Make Cookies Faster – Cooking Hack Confirmed by SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation as the first video on the playlist.
Along the Simulation topic, if you’re using SOLIDWORKS Simulation, but would like more about meshing, then take a look at our SOLIDWORKS Simulation: Mesh Tips playlist. This is a playlist that’s best watched from start to finish, so if you jump ahead to SOLIDWORKS Simulation: Combining Mesh Types, but have additional questions you may want to start at the beginning with SOLIDWORKS Simulation: Mesh Fundamentals and work your way through the playlist one at a time.
The last playlist to take a look at is our SOLIDWORKS Product Overviews playlist. If there’s a SOLIDWORKS product you’ve heard of, but aren’t really sure what it is or what it does, this playlist is great. So if you’ve heard of Inspection, but it’s still a bit fuzzy, you’ll see What is SOLIDWORKS Inspection? Or if you want to know more about Composer (and can put up with my rhyming nonsense) you’ll see SOLIDWORKS Composer – The Technical Story Telling Tool.
Our goal as an Application Engineering team is simple: take care of our customers. To do that we try to provide you with the most insight we can in as many ways as we can (there’s even a podcast!), so if you’re after more in depth videos please know we have you covered with our CATI YouTube channel.
