SOLIDWORKS 2019 What’s New – Configuring Routing Components - #SW2019

If you haven’t used Configure Component, I would have to say now is the time. Configure Component is a user-defined PropertyManager for parts and assemblies that have more than one configuration. It enables you to select the configuration of a component when you place it in an assembly. You define Configure Component PropertyManagers in the Configuration Publisher dialog box.

So, you ask. What is Configuration Publisher? It is a tool that can help define and navigate you thru picking specific configurations at the assembly level or when downloading a model from 3D Content Central.

Now, in SOLIDWORKS 2019 You can use the Configure Component tool for Routing components with route properties in assemblies when the Routing add-in is enabled.

Please note: You must include a component or assembly that has its parameters defined through the Configuration Publisher.

First thing you want to do is Click Tools>Options>System Options>Routing and select Use configure components to select configuration.

Next, enable SOLIDWORKS Routing add-in.

or just Drag and Drop from the Design Library.
