Class #: S102

SOLIDWORKS Essentials is an exploration of the fundamental techniques required to bring innovation alive in three dimensions. This class will provide the foundation and skills required for creating basic parts and assemblies, 2D documentation, and product management for novice and experienced users.

During this five-day instructor-led course, students will learn:

  • The key characteristics of a feature-based parametric solid modeling tool.
  • The organization of the SOLIDWORKS interface, along with a variety of tools and workflows to improve the efficiency of the design process.
  • Best practices to apply "design intent" to a fully associative modeling environment.
  • The processes for: using sketch tools to create solids, modifying them into more complex shapes, inserting them into assemblies and subassemblies, and finally representing them in drawings to fully communicate their design intent.
  • A full day dedicated to review, student collaboration, and custom content developed and delivered only by Computer Aided Technology.

Completion of SOLIDWORKS Essentials will prepare the designer to efficiently create, modify, and communicate their designs more effectively.

Training Testimonials

[The Instructor] is a great guy and great instructor! I had a great time and most of all learned all of the essentials of SOLIDWORKS.

Ken Stoner

[The Instructor] did a great job teaching all of the subjects in an easy flowing manner. He did a great job of not only explaining how to do certain tasks but also why the tasks should be completed in a certain way, putting a large emphasis on the overall design philosophy.

Wyatt Kovich

Great class. It gave you enough knowledge to explore more options.
