Design Innovation Design Competition

It’s that time of year again where we get our creative juices flowing for Design Innovation Month’s Design Competition. As we head ‘back to the future’, we take a new look at how today’s hoverboards can be revamped to emulate movie magic. While we don’t foresee floating hoverboards any time soon, you can still customize additional accessories for what’s available in today’s market.

Our challenge to you is…Design an aftermarket accessory which can be applied to a Hoverboard buggy (you can view the buggy model to the left or below).

This can be anything from a cell phone holder, a cup holder, footrest or protective covering that can be affixed to the buggy. We welcome you to exploit the advantages of 3D printing and the design freedom it delivers.

To really put the best SOLIDWORKS 3D designers to the test, the competition for 2022 will run for 5 weeks only! To further challenge you, you will be limited to design for only FDM or PolyJet 3D printers.

All winning entries will be printed by CATI to scale using the appropriate technology and 3D printing material selected by CATI. All entries become property of Computer Aided Technology / GoEngineer.
