Objet, Computer Aided Technology’s 3D Printing Partner, Featured in Keynote Presentation at SOLIDWORKS World

January 20th, 2022

Buffalo Grove, IL – February 16, 2009 – The Objet Alaris30 got some unplanned attention Monday at SOLIDWORKS World during Jeff Ray’s keynote presentation. Computer Aided Technology, Inc., top SOLIDWORKS reseller, is the sole provider of the Objet 3D printing technology in the Midwest.

Ray told a story about a new start-up company whose goal is to make smaller and less expensive wind turbines for your home. The focus was on emerging green technologies and SOLIDWORKS’ role in that. The model Ray showed for the wind turbine was an Objet prototype.

Objet’s unexpected participation in Ray’s keynote happened the night prior when the wind turbine sample was printed by the Objet machine on the show floor. The speed and accuracy of the Objet machine coupled with its ability to produce fine details such as the edges of the turbine made it the only viable choice to produce the model so quickly.

SOLIDWORKS founder John Hirschtick recognized 3D Printing as an important up and coming technology, “My view is that if you haven’t seen 3D printing lately you haven’t seen it at all. You can model a full product these days,” he said. This bodes especially well for the Objet Alaris30 because of its precision, speed, and the strength of the material it uses.

Because the Objet 3D printing technology allows a user to produce a true to life prototype, it eliminates the old need for multiple traditional sample parts thus saving time, energy, and dollars. The Objet Alaris30 is a productive tool to have in both traditional and green design.

Objet’s Alaris30 3D printer has a build tray of 300 x 200 x 150mm, which allows it to print many parts simultaneously. It is also capable of 36 hours of unattended printing, and unlike many other 3D printers on the market today, the Alaris30’s accuracy, 0.1 -0.2mm, allows it to produce true-to-life 3D models.
