How to Install Abaqus 2017.

Download the “tar” files from Simulia using the link provided in their automated email. The contents of these tar archives must be extracted in a way that allows them their contents to overlap directories. One way to do this is by using 7-zip: select all files, right click, 7-zip “extract here”. This should produce a single subdirectory named “AM_SIM_Abaqus_Extend.AllOS” containing the installation software within.

If using fe-safe, extract and install it first so you can later tell Tosca where to find it. Use 7-zip again to “extract here” the file:

AM_SIM_Abaqus_Extend.AllOS3SIMULIA_fe-safeSIM_fe-safe.AllOS.1-1.tar

Then run as administrator:

AM_SIM_Abaqus_Extend.AllOS3SIMULIA_fe-safeSIM_fe-safe.AllOS1windowssetup.exe

Finally, run the master setup program to optionally install the documentation, license, and remaining applications in their proper order:

AM_SIM_Abaqus_Extend.AllOS1setup.exe
