SOLIDWORKS 2016 What’s New – SOLIDWORKS PDM Standard – #SW2016
SOLIDWORKS PDM Standard is a document management product that is based on the same SQL architecture as SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM. One of the great functions of this new product offering is that you can easily upgrade to the full version of Enterprise PDM without any data migration. This is a product offering focused on small design companies with a simple workflow and one office location for file storage.
SOLIDWORKS PDM Standard uses the SolidNetwork License Manager and requires a serial number for licensing. One license of SOLIDWORKS PDM Standard CAD Editor is included with each license of SOLIDWORKS 2016 Professional and SOLIDWORKS 2016 Premium. Licenses for non-CAD users are available as separately purchased products.
Below are some tables showing the functionalities of each license type available for SOLIDWORKS PDM Standard:
Capabilities of the new PDM Standard product are as follows:
- SOLIDWORKS add-in
- DraftSight add-in
- Single Workflow
- Workflow States are limited to 10
- eDrawings preview
- Integrated search tool
- Notifications – PDM Inbox
- SQL Server Express support
- Revision schemes are limited to 2
