Issues with Waterjet Cleaning System
If your waterjet suddenly stops working where the lights do not come on, the wiper arm doesn’t move, and the pump itself doesn’t come on when the pedal is pushed, it may be an easy fix. All of the power for this unit goes though the electrical box on the rear of the WaterJet and then distributed from there. The main thing we find that causes the system to go down is a simple fuse.
So if you power your WaterJet up and it doesn’t have lights on, this is one of the first thing we want to check. First, being that the outlet on the wall doesn’t have a breaker, that has popped and that the power cable hasn’t become dislodged.
You will need to access the rear of the machine for this, so in our case, we just rotated it on a 45 degree angle. This will provide access to the fuse holder on the top right side of the box, as if looking at it from the rear.
With a small flat blade screwdriver, you can remove the fuse with about a 1/8th turn counter clockwise.
Once it is loose, you can just grab the plastic holder and pull it out for further inspection.
This is a regular glass tube style fuse, so you just need to see if the filament inside is burned or broken. If so, it needs to be replaced, if you suspect it to be bad, it is a really cheap and readily available piece from your local hardware store. The fuse is a 250v/3.5a or 4a fast blow type and can usually be purchased in a small package for a few dollars. It’s held in with light tension, so just pull it and it will release. Repeat process in reverse to install, and your machine may be fixed up. If it continues to blow fuses, though you generally will have a problem with the incoming power and will want to get that checked out.
