So, you’ve hidden a dimension on your drawing but now you want to bring it back. Wait, where’d it go? To bring back any hidden dimension or annotation in your drawing, you’ll need to activate the Hide/Show Annotation command found under View > Hide/Show > Annotations.
First, let’s hide some dimensions. If you select one or more dimensions, you can Right Click on a dimension and select Hide.
Tech Tip: If you hold down the Ctrl key while you select dimensions, you can select multiple dimensions at a time.
Now that we’ve hidden some dimensions, let’s bring them all back. Activate the Hide/Show Annotations command located in View > Hide/Show > Annotations.
Tech Tip: You can also use the Command Search box in the upper right to quickly find and launch commands.
Once this command is active, your mouse pointer feedback changes to the following hide/show icon:
In addition, all hidden dimensions and annotations are shown in a light grey color.
If you click on a hidden dimension, it will toggle it to its show state and change it to a darker color indicating it is no longer hidden.
Tech Tip: When Hide/Show Annotations is active, you can toggle any shown dimensions and annotations to their hidden state as well.
When you are done toggling the hide and show state of your dimensions and annotations, just hit the ESC (Escape) Key to exit the command.
Hope this tip helps you save some time when organizing your SOLIDWORKS drawings.
