The Top Ten List 2022: Idea Submission is Now Underway!

Do you have an idea that can revolutionize CAD software as we know it? Have you been shouting into the void without an audience to share it with? Shout no longer! As described in this recent blog post from SOLIDWORKS, you can now submit your ideas for this year’s Top Ten List. All suggestions can be posted in the Top Ten List Swym community until January 3, 2022, with the voting period lasting from January 3 to January 28.

After tallying up the votes, the top ten entries will be shared at the upcoming 3DEXPERIENCE World conference, taking place February 6-9, 2022, both virtually and live from Atlanta, GA.

If you aren’t familiar, the Top Ten List is an annual open poll of sorts that offers a way for users to propose enhancements to the R&D team at SOLIDWORKS. This year, they are seeking ideas not only for the SOLIDWORKS desktop program, but also for 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS, xDesign, and xShape.

Though there are many factors that determine whether a feature gets implemented in a new release and many channels through which it might make its way to R&D’s ears, a number of now-standard capabilities in the SOLIDWORKS software were popular picks in previous lists. For instance, having multiple bodies in a single part document, the Weldments tools, the Midpoint Line, and—more recently—the ability to open a drawing without needing the referenced models (aka Detailing Mode) can all be found in Top Ten Lists over the years.
