New Feature Highlight: Creaform’s HandyScan Black Part 1

Creaform recently announced the next generation in their high accuracy laser scanning product line, the HandyScan Black series. This blog will go through a few of the changes they’ve implemented compared to the previous generation of HandyScan.

Accuracy – 25% Increase

The HandyScan Black boasts an improved point to surface accuracy of 9 ten thousandths of an inch (0.0009”) vs the previous generations 12 ten thousandths of an inch (0.0012”).

Volumetric Accuracy – 30% Increase

Measure large parts more accurately with an improved 5 ten thousandths of an inch per foot measurement error vs the old HandyScan’s 7 ten thousandths inch per foot.

Measurement Resolution – 50% Increase

With 0.0009” Measurement resolution, you’ll be able to measure even finer part features than before.

Mesh Resolution – 50% Increase

Get a crisper image and tighter measurement definition on your part with the scanner’s improved 0.0039” mesh resolution.

Measurement Speed – 170% Increase

By increasing the number of laser lines from 7 to 11, Creaform has been able to ramp up their measurement speed to an incredible 1.3 million measurements per second.
