The next SOLIDWORKS Louisville User Group meeting – known locally as “the SLUG” – has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 21st, 2011. It will be held at the University of Louisville Henry Vogt Engineering Center. The meeting details are below. If you are located in the Louisville area and have not attended a SLUG meeting, I only have one question – why not? The topic for this meeting is “How do YOU use SolidWorks?”. Members of the local SOLIDWORKS Community […]
Last week at the Cincinnati User Group Meeting, an engineer from Oystar North America said that he downloaded a cool macro that would create multiple Isometric views. I was able to find a site that has this macro plus others that you may find interesting. The site is Lorono’s SOLIDWORKS Resources. Always remember that when you are using a macro, be sure to test it out before using it in production.
If you’re intrigued by all that’s new in PhotoView 360 2011 and you want to learn everything there is to know about it, then RSVP to the next NorthEast Ohio SolidWorks User Group (NEOSWUG) meeting scheduled for March 21st. I’ll personally walk you through the new interface and some pretty cool rendering tips and tricks. There will also be a nice presentation given by my friend Tonia Lauer about Weldments/Sheet Metal. Plus, it’s always a great time just socializing with […]
Back on March 8th, SOLIDWORKS announced they will be holding SWUGN technical summits again. The event will take place on September 21st at the Sharonville Convention Center near I-275 and I-75. This will be my third technical summit and I am looking forward to it, they really put on a good […]

I was going to start this entry with “you missed a great summit”, but few of you actually did miss it. Yesterday’s technical summit had a great turnout, over 100 people were there! It was a good show. I thought the facilities were a bit small, most of the sessions had people standing in the back of the room. Even the standing people felt it was worth it. This pic is of Richard Wand giving his weldment presentation. He continually […]
You know the best way to keep up with technology is to interface with others. You also know that SOLIDWORKS World is one of the best places to do this. Regrettably, it is sometimes hard to get an entire week off…besides who wants to go to Southern California or Florida when you live so much closer to Columbus Ohio? All is not lost. There still is time (though not much) to sign up for Tuesday’s SWUGN Technical Summit in Columbus. […]
